Even Moore was a better actor but I find it hard to see Connery pulling off the emotional scenes.
My worst Bond is Live and Let Die - its dated worse than any others
Ensure you have the full OHMSS soundtrack(see below)
I just watched Golden Gun on Bluray and although not one of the best its certainly improved with age.
This does appear to be an almost universally hated Bond film but I like it even though the invisible car is one step too far.
When OHMSS and other soundtracks were first released on cd they were direct ports of the vinyl releases so only lasted about 35-40 minutes if that.
A few years back many of them (including OHMSS and other John Barry scores) were re-released with a full soundtrack lasting the full 70+ minutes enabling lots of classic music to be heard for the first time.
The superb OHMSS safe cracking scene was not on the LP or first cd but is on the later one and is a great track.
I like Moonraker too and the others you mention- John Barry , for me , is the 007 music man
