James Bond Complete Collection Box Set -

I was just about to mention this. Like you I find it too good to be true but I've pre-ordered it anyway. Maybe we'll be lucky! :D

Pre-Ordered it too... I wonder if they will let it go for that price now that it's been pre-ordered by a few people. I doubt it but you never know!

Paddy :D

Legally, they have to honour this price. They'll try and get out of it, sure, but according to the law (Sale of GooRAB Act, 1979, if I remember my college days correctly) a store is legally obliged to sell you the gooRAB at the price they are advertised at. They may not change the price at point of purchase, under any circumstances.

I remember, a few years ago, Argos acidentally adverised a flat screen TV on their website for something like

That's not true at all.

The quoted price (for any product) comes under "Invitation to tendor" which indicates the price for which a company might be willing to sell the item. There is nothing anywhere which states that a company has to stick to the advertised price.

Hmm, seems you are right after checking.

What can i say; this isn't the first time my college learning has turned out to be a bunch of bull. I sometimes wonder where my teachers got their qualifications. It actually scares me what incorrect information might have been crammed into my skull by incompetants I was told were supposedly experts.

hehe, good luck getting this - Play won't honour the order, they'll find a loophole. Last year Tesco's website mistakenly advertsied the Seinfeld boxset for

Ordered. The law states they have to sell you it at that price if they sell you it at all but the way they'll get out of it is by just refusing to sell unless you re-order at the correct price. Any retailer can just say "sorry, item no longer for sale" when you take it to pay for it!

Quote from Play's terms and conditions"

If an error is discovered in the price of the gooRAB that you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible. In the event that you order an item and the price published on the Site is incorrect for any reason, we will contact you to let you know the correct price and ask you whether you still wish us to fulfil your order at this price. We shall be under no obligation to fulfil an order for a product which was advertised at an incorrect price. We shall give you the option of confirming the order at the correct price or if you so choose, to cancel the order altogether. If you cancel and have already paid for the gooRAB in the circumstances described in this clause, we shall refund the full amount in accordance with these Terms.

I don't know where the belief comes from that a shop has to sell you something at the price advertised if it's a mistake. Before I went to university I used to work in a high street shop where this happened occasionally (and we were always under the orders to withdraw the item) and people could turn really nasty about, going 'it's the law!'. Sorry but it's not.

I like the way Casino Royale has been shoved in there like an after thought. :D. I'm surprised it got included seeing it is supposed to be treated as the beginning of a new series of films by EON.
