Jailbreak a previously jailbroken device with(out) data loss?

I got in iPod touch 3G currently on 4.1, and it is jailbroken. But now I'd like to update it to 4.2.1 and rejailbreak it. But I'm wondering if I will lose all my apps that I got via cydia/installous. So for example: will I lose all my progress in Angry Birds or even the complete app, or will it still be there when I re-jailbreak my device?
