Jail breaking My EVO - need link or any information

I searched but did not find any related links, so...

Is jail breaking and rooting the same thing?

I own an EVO purchased in Juky 2010 and I am not at all happy with the Sprint network and would love to be able to use the phone on Verizon's network

Can anyone give me the link for instructions on how to jailbreak/root my phone so I can go with Verizon?

i think what you're describing is unlocking, somewhat different to rooting. probably best to take it into town & get an independent phone shop to unlock it for a small fee. they can usually debrand it (take off carrier specific stuff) at the same time. or just get the unlock code from your operator.
