Jackie Chan's got a new cartoon show in China

How many of you remember the Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon? Without any question, JCA was the best animated series based on a popular celebrity, with its smooth anime-like character designs by Jeff Matsuda who would later do the designs for The Batman.

Well, now there's a new animated cartoon series which was introduced at the China International Animation Festival where it won the award for Best Series Animation. It's titled "Jackie Chan Fantasia" and it is a cartoon series by one of Hong Kong's top animators, Huang Yulang (who also happens to be an old friend of Jackie's).

Hey, cool! They did a good job on Jackie's caricature. He's very recognizable with his nose, heh.

Although this one has a lot of work to do if it wants to catch up with...

That's some pretty cool animation there and the shows seems completely crazy all over the place :p Consider me intrigued.
 
Especially considering this is Chinese TV animation, Chinese animated shows were never exactly known for top quality animation when compared to both American and Japanese (even Korean) animation, so it seems they uped their game a bit for this project.
 
Well, that's certainly interesting. I remember hearing once that China really liked Jackie Chan, but I didn't think that they liked him that much.



Those are some pretty cool designs. Jackie looks pretty tough there. The girl on the left reminds me of the first Pokemon Ranger girl, Solana, and the puppy dog looks so adorable. It looks like a Poochyena with armor and wings. The girl on the right kind of looks like Yoei from Digimon Adventure 02 with orange hair and the bird looks like a mix-between Murkrow and Ho-Oh. Man, I watch a lot of Pokemon. :D

Anyway, those design work really well for me. It would be cool if this got an English dub. While I really enjoyed Jackie Chan Adventures, I wouldn't mind seeing another fun Jackie Chan series.
 
Visually it looks pretty, even if the characters are wearing clothes bordering on seizure-inducing (it's so...colorful). Can't say much outside of it though due to how little we know about it. However, I'd like to see this in motion.
 
I can't say I like the after image effect in the animation (but that may just be the video encoding but the amount going on I don't think it is).

Well looks interesting enough and the title makes me wonder if there will be any Fantasy Mission Force references (but that wasn't the original title so unlikely for that reason).
