Jackie Chan Adventures

Jackie's English is definitely good enough, but just from his little pieces at the end of the show you can tell he still has a very heavy accent. I don't know how well it would have went over if he voiced his character.

I feel the same way. The first two seasons were great, but when they went back to the Talisman search again for season three, I thought that the series was losing steam. I thought that it picked up again somewhere in the middle, but the anticlimactic defeat of Shendu kind of took that away. I thought that it was really hard to watch through the Oni Masks and Draco arcs. They just weren't that interesting to me.

I thought that Jade was okay, but I thought that she was more tolerable/interesting during the first two seasons. I agree that she still had the same behavior throughout most of the series though. I remember J2 as well and it really did make it seem that Jade would change. I think the sequel actually took some of that away since we saw future Jade punished for time-traveling and still treated in the same manner as she was in the past. Granted, I haven't seen the episode in ages, so I could easily be wrong on the details.

I wasn't a big fan of him myself. As a one-shot villain, he was decent at best. Giving him a whole season might not have been the best choice since he didn't seem interesting enough to warrant a whole arc for himself. He definitely wasn't nearly as threatening as Shendu.

I think that's one problem I had with the series over time. The villains didn't seem as interesting or as threatening. Shendu was pretty cool in the first two seasons, along with the Dark Hand. Season two did introduce some cool demons and I did like how Valmont was a part of the action in this season. Season two also had the best finale, in my opinion, due to its action packed storyline and nice character growth. Even though season three was weaken by going through the talisman search again, at least Daolon Wong was an intimidating villain. I don't even remember who was the villain during the Oni Mask season and Draco, as already mentioned, didn't feel like much of a villain to begin with. In fact, the only thing I did like about Draco's season was that it did bring some decent closure to the series. Though, I didn't like how Valmont became less threatening and borderline pathetic starting from season three.

:crying::crying: So much hate for this excellent show. I've seen far worse than this in cartoons in my time on earth so far. It's only failing I can think of is that like many shows they didn't know how to end the damn thing. But the mere fact alone that they took the absurd premise of creating a series based on jackie chan's films and actually made it its own living breathing world and mythology is outstanding creative genius at work. So many shows only wish they could be as creative as this was... I'm looking at you spectacular spiderman. I'll never ever watch it again as long as I live, but come on. It was cool for the time being.

I've always thought this to be one of my favorite US animated shows. I initially had some hesitance to watch it because, despite my love for martial arts films, I figured it was just a cash in on Jackie's name, and while it definitely was that, it seemed that some effort actually went into the show. The first episode really took me by surprise and made me an instant fan of the show, and I was surprisingly amused to know that the voice actor for Jackie's character wasn't actually Jackie himself.

The first episode was really interesting to me because I've always been a fan of shows that can pull off the whole MacGuffin theme in an interesting manner, and this show definitely had that for me. I loved the core cast of characters and a lot of the supporting characters were easy for me to be fans of as well. The villains were appealing in that there was a nice variation of comedic to straight up evil characters in their ranks.

In general, the first season was really fun to watch, the episodes that actually dealt with the season-long plot always had me hooked. The way the first season ended was really great, gave a nice amount of closure to a lot of the characters and their stories. The second season was rather...very bland to me, the actual mission was decent, but the insane amount of filler just killed my interest in it, though I loved its finale. The third season seemed like such a rehash of the first two seasons and there just wasn't anything that hooked me in too much.

I guess I'll be in the minority and say that season four was actually my favorite. I felt it gave the series a bit of a wider scope, things such as Tohru taking more of the spotlight against Uncle, and especially the J2 episode, felt like it was a sort of passing the torch season to the younger generation of warriors. Those things aside, I absolutely loved the Japanese mythology with the Oni masks, their designs were really appealing. I also loved the Shadowkahn tribes and thought that was one of the most unique aspects of the entire series itself.

I'll be honest and say I didn't see all of season five, though I've been trying to, but finding episodes and my general unenthusiastic attitude towards it are making it difficult to get through the season, though I have seen the finale and it was...decent. Certainly not the sort of thing I wanted for the end of such an interesting series, though I hear a lot of the original production staff left after the fourth season, so I suppose that drop in quality is understandable, though not acceptable in my eyes.

How did you feel about Drago, Blue?

Also, how could Jade have destroyed a donut shop when that taxi that blew up didn't destroy anything, and that the Dragon Talisman got destroyed by Drago. I think Jade may have met her future self about a couple years before she really became the new boss. Was Drago even mentioned?
