Just to be clear I was not talking about the AMP mounting although I do have my ARC mounted with industrial velcro on top of the radio and have had it there for about 10k miles with no issue. I was talking about the XM/CB tray that comes with the JM kit. I got one from another member and although its designed to attach to the top plate that comes with the amp and I do not have that plate I feel comfortable with the way I did it.

The amp comes with a bracket for the XM and CB module and it will work!

HAs anyone with XM noticed terrible XM reception after moving it below the radio? I am trying to figure out of my antenna has a problem or if others have seen this.

My antenna is placed between my windshield pouches outside the fairing and has been there for about 2 years with no real issues. After moving the receiver below the radio with the JM bracket I can't ride down an open road with out the signal going in and out.

It sounds like an antenna issue. The antenna might of been going bad and the relocation of the receiver made it a problem. Just moving he receiver will not cause the problem your having.

The thing I noticed about the receiver being under the radio is that now the back of the headlight puts some stress on the antenna connector. I took the headlight off while the fairing was still attached to notice this. May not be a problem but just an observation.

I messed with is some this morning and I noticed that there was a pretty good "pinch" on the antenna wire from running it outside the fairing. I may get a new one and place it in the stock location for a while to see how that does.

twilliams...I am noticing bad reception with XM, but had bad reception before and after installing J&M amp on bracket...I've tried 2 different antennas and neither seemed to work worth a chit...there are times I get so pissed with it that I switch over to FM radio...sheeeze!

Guys, too many pages for the time I have to read all, so I am sorry in advance as I am sure this has been asked: Is this amp being used with stock speakers? I have a 09 Ultra. I did upgrade my front speakers the ARC if I remember right. How does this compare in performance and price to Hog Tunes amps? I think I read they have a 4 channel now? Is this similar? Power? Thanks all. I am getting ready to upgrade and want to get it right the first time. Thanks.
