Installed my speakers and amp yesterday from Dr. V-twin. Was a great upgrade and great people to deal with. I tested the speakers with out the amp. And was very loud and clear. The amp took it over the top which is what I wanted. I will say this to anyone thinking of doing this...... Do it and you will not be sorry...... so long as you go see the doctor.

So, I installed the 7.25's on my Ultra about 6 weeks ago and wasn't too impressed. That is until the 2894 mile road trip I just finished. Myself and three friends just returned and I listened to xm radio for the last eleven days. The speakers performed great, the whole time. All speeds up to about 75mph, in traffic, on back roads and city streets. They sounded great! Undoubtedly a great purchase for me. Thanks J&M and the Dr. You will be receiving orders from those three friends very soon.
 
Did the install on my 01 Road Glide.. Cost me $55.00 extra to buy the special adapters to fit the 7.25 J&M's... Evidently some "older" Road Glide fairings require these adapters...

Sound is great w/ no amp... Pondering about getting one or not... GF on the back sasys she can't hear the stereo.. HHMM.. what to do...

I ordered my 7.25 speakers and the 250W amp last Friday for my '10 SG. Unfortunately I placed my order after FedEx had already picked up but I will get then this week. Cant wait to install them both.
 
I've read much of this forum but have a couple questions.

I have one of the Screamin' Eagle Ultras in Crimson Black. I believe the advanced HK radio in this bike has an output of 160 watts. So, no amp needed for the J&M 7.25 speakers.....I am guessing. And no problem with this radio and these speakers???

If I mount these fairing speakers, can I retain the stock grill, so it looks stock?

Also, I read about some 7.25 speakers becoming available for the rear. But don't see them anywhere. Are they out yet?

Last question (and I know there is a front to rear fader on the radio).....will these fairing speakers drown out the smaller rear speakers?
