UPS delivered today, i'm going to install without amp and see if it sounds as good as some people say. I'm a cynic at heart. I'll report back in a few days.

Bluzman59 ,,,,,

I want to thank you again for your understanding during your J&M speaker installs at Bike Week in Daytona ,,,,,,,,

we still are not absolutely sure what caused your radio not to play, when a J&M amp was connected to it ,,,, ironically the radio in my RoadGlide plays fine with an amp now, after we got the bike back home ,,,,,,

I would like you to do two things for me if you are able ,,,,,

1 ,,,,,, since both you and your wife have the J&M 7.25" speakers ,,, and your wife has the J&M 250w amp installed with them ,,,, tell us all in the most descriptive words possible, the difference in sound between your two Harleys ,,,,

2 ,,,,,, later this next week, when I think I will have this random problem with Harley radios solved, I want to send you a new J&M 250w amp kit, No Charge ,,,, I would like you to install it OR have it installed by your dealer ,,,, then come back to us here on the board and let us know if in fact I have fixed the problem ,,,, as "I" no longer have a radio with the problem ,,,,,,,

please reply to me direct at [email protected] with the shipping address you would like to use for the new J&M amp kit,,,,

I just finished up installing my 7.25's on my '09 Ultra this afternoon and here's my 2 cents worth.....to start, I ordered mine thru Phat Performance Parts for $219.95 shipped, ordered online last Sat. they shipped UPS on Monday so I'm happy with the transaction. The kit is very simple to install, no issues at all. I first listened to a few songs (CD and on my Mp3 player) thru the stock speakers. Next I put the acoustic foam on the inside of the outer fairing, re-installed it and listened to the stock speakers again. It did seemed to help "rich-en" up the sound a little, the stock system sounds clear and crisp to me but lacks bass. I then put the J&M 7.25's in, made sure they worked, then put the outer fairing back on. I listened to the same songs to compare them with the stockers..... there's DEFINITELY a fuller, richer sound!!!! I can crank them to full volume and they sound clear, clean, crisp and with quite a bit more bass. I honestly was afraid there wouldn't be a big improvement and would feel like they weren't worth the dough.....but I'm very pleased with the purchase. IMHO they sound awesome and I couldn't be happier! Money well spent. Larry

Hi Everyone,

I bought the J & M 7.25's and the Hogtunes Lower Fairing Speaker kit with amp over 2 months ago from Dr. V-Twin. I have been doing so much stuff to the bike AND I moved AND I bought some other bikes SO, I just got around to installing the set-up. I have to say, IT IS A MONSTER IMPROVEMENT. The bike is a 2010 Street Glide with Lower fairings, obviously The service from Dr. V-Twin was great and the system really rocks. After the New York monsoons stop I will get out and ride it and leave another review but, I can honestly say: I cranked it in the garage, no distortion, crystal clear sound and booming bass. I can only imagine what it would sound like with the new J & M amp The J & M 7.25's and Hogtunes lowers together are a vast improvement over the stock speakers.

Will do, John, and I sent you my shipping information.

Comparing my Street Glide without the amp and my wife's with the amp is night and day. First, the speakers sound great in my bike without an amp. They are a major upgrade over stock. With the amp, they are awesome. I wish I had more knowledge so I could give a more technical review. The best I can say is that the sound is a lot fuller and deeper. When riding, the speakers with the amp cut through the wind effortlessly. You can crank them up loud without much distortion at all. Also, with the amp, I can have the AVC turned off. Without the amp, I still have it on at "1." We both have Klockwerks windshields so the comparison is accurate. If money is an issue, the 7.25" speakers are great alone. But, adding the amp is definitely worth it, IMHO.

Let me start by saying Thanks Shawn (DR.V Twin) for great service and fast shipping! Now for my take on the speakers, spent about 2 hrs installing speakers! Mid and tweater wires rubbed on adapter, adapter and grill holes do not line up,WOW! Have looked thru the reviews and seems other people are having the same issues, wheres the quality control??? I read JMjohns reply that he can assure you they are the best quality, kinda hard to believe when it takes 2 hrs to install (nothing lines up).For this kinda money everthing should bolt together. As for sound yes they are louder than stock, kinda hollow sounding. Did not have the WOW factor i was expecting!! Oh Well live and learn!!!!!

I experienced the same "hollow sounding" experience with with my 09 SG last week and was dissapointed to say the least. I decided to dish out $150 more for an Elf amp off of Ebay and I can tell you I could not be happier now. Highs, mid and lows all sound rich and fantastic...concert like. I feel the extra cash made all the difernce in the world -jmho
