J&M 7.25 Speaker Review

Sorry, but let me butt in here, the J&M 7.25" front speakers for the Harley and the J&M 5.25" rear speakers for the Ultra are THE most efficient speakers you can buy for your audio system, and it does not matter whether or not you are running the stock Harley radio ,,, or an amplifier ,,,, or a BIG amplifier ,,,,

we have been testing many amplifiers over the last few weeks ,,, some better than others, BUT the common denominator in all of this, is that the J&M speakers sound better regardless of which amplifier you are running or how much power it is putting out ,,,, the new J&M 7.25s are hands down above all the other speakers we have compared ,,,,

we have tested the Biketonics brand amp, the HawgWired brand amp, HogTunes brand amp etc ,,, all the way up to a large Alpine 500 watt car amp ,,,, same result ,,, the J&M speakers ROCK by themselves and ROCK even more with an amp, and the bigger the better ,,,,,

at some point however ,,,, we are all going to need to start looking at HOW MUCH current the stock Harley CHARGING system can put out on a constant basis, mile after mile without overheating and wearing out prematurely ,,,,,,,,

that is what we are working on now ,,,,,,,

I thought it would be safer to advise everyone on here to wait for the J&M amp as it would be designed with your 7.25" speakers in mind. I didn't want to make a broad general statement that one could run any amp safely because if someone hooked up a huge amp and blew the speakers, that would potentially void your lifetime warranty and I didn't want to put any of our customers at risk of damaging their speakers.

Biketronics advised us that their amps would NOT be compatible with the J&M speakers due to the ohm differences with their BT454 amp and their BT480 amp would be too big to run and would destroy the spring inside the speaker over long term use. I was simply relaying information that I was given.

Again, I just wanted to remain on the side of caution when giving technical advice.

I have been waiting on the 7.25 speakers for the Road Glides and saw that they are now available for purchase. I was going to buy them, but wanted to purchase an amp at the same time. I didn't know which to run with these speakers, and then I saw the post from Dr VTwin that J&M was working on their own amp. This was great news to me so I am going to wait. I am already using their previous model speakers and really enjoy them. I can wait a couple of months to get more bang for my buck...
 
J&M is most likely trying to get pre-sales, however J&M has informed us that Road Glide speakers will be shipping NO earlier than December 1, 2009.

By the way, our price will be: $235.00 shipped on the Road Glide speakers just in case you wanted to save some cash just in time for the Holidays.

J&M offers a 2 year warranty.

We just got another shipment of the 7.25" speakers in stock, so all orders can ship out the same day.
