I bought the headset speakers for my helmet to use on 08 Ultra Classic. Very disappointing product because of two reasons. I. When you are sitting at their sales tent at a rally, they sounded great, however when you are riding down the road and pump the volume up in your helmet headset, they sounded really tinny. 2. Their is an impedence mismatch, because you cannot talk to your passenger thru your microphone
unless you open up the vox to the point that the wind will keep the vox open all the time. I wasted $190.00 at the National HOG rally in Oklahoma City. I tried to make John understand or give my money back to no avail. The headset is in a box in the garage
and will be sold at yard sale later for 10.00. No more J&M for me. Bldr

First of all, this thread is supposed to be about the new J & M 7.25's. These new speakers are NOT the answer for the audiophile who has a car trunkload of space and unlimited power to boost a $5,000 sound system. This is about a completely viable $250 option that SERIOUSLY does improve the POS stock speakers while meeting the challenge of adapting to the SERIOUS inadequacies of the stock Harmon Kardon head unit. If you want sound perfection and bass thumping that sets off car alarms and loosens tooth fillings, then you will need to pay a lot more for it. But if you want to SERIOUSLY improve the overall sound and overall volume and overall quality of your existing system for the same price as a pair of Harley Davisdon rearview mirrors, then these J & M 7.25's are a completely honest and viable option. They do not boast to being the best sound ever, but rather a dramatic improvement for a fair price. In my opinion, J & M has fullfilled that goal and I am completely and 100% satisfied. I can now cruise and enjoy all of my music at 70MPH +. The bottom line for me is that $250 is a totally fair price to pay for a mod that is super easy to install and has more than doubled the quality and enjoyment of my music while I'm in the saddle.

RC Pilot ,,,,,

the J&M 7.25s should be able to reproduce 50-70hz notes pretty easily ,,,, depending upon your actual music source and radio/amplifier that is driving them ,,,,,

I was messing around with them today with the Arc Audio mini amp, and with the bass boost turned up a bit on the amp, it was impressive ,,,,,

has anybody tried them yet with the larger of the two Biketronics amplifiers ? ,,,

JMJOHN,

We have done the research and spoke with Biketronics extensively and according to the staff at Biketronics, you can't run the BT454 amp because the J&M speakers are rated at 2 ohms. They said that the speakers must be rated at a higher ohm to safely run the BT454 amp.

The BT480 amp would work based on the amp's scaling feature, but the power of the amp being 360 watts (180 watts x 2) may prove to be too much for the J&M speakers to handle. Biketronics said that over time, the BT480 amp would burn up the coil inside the speakers.

All right, I pre apologize for my ignorance so don't beat me up to bad.

J & M offers two different 7.25 models, one is 2 ohms the other 8. Witch one? I'd be mounting them in a '10 FLHTK.
