J and J Present: How To [Blank] In 7 Easy Tracks

This is weird, I posted a little review of Jackhammer's comp a couple days ago and now it's disappeared.

Anyway, what I said was I liked Jackhammer's mix and it really made feel like I was watching some forgotten movie from the 80s. I think I'm pretty knowledgeable about 80s pop so I was kind of surprised that "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" was the only song I knew but I was familiar with all or almost all of the banRAB.

Seven Songs To Have a Nightmare To

This idea (thanks Demonoid!) was the winner by a lanRABlide. So here you have it, a mix from each of us based around the nightmare theme. Hope you enjoy them and let us know what you think!

Janszoon's "Seven Songs To Have a Nightmare To"
Since my nightmares range from intense and terrifying to brooding and disturbing, I went in a couple different directions with these songs in terms of mood. Tracklist:

1. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum

As you said Janszoon. Once again we have gone for completely different stances on the comps. I love the opening Tom Waits track and the Earth track was perfect. The tomahawk track was great but the tonal change upset the rythmn of the mix I felt even though I want to hear more.

Great mix though. I really enjoyed it.

Oh Oh...I did! :D
I was going to listen to it a few more times before I gave any input.

But, since we're here...

I'll agree with you both in saying the Janszoon's was less varied than Jackhammer's...but still completely hot and probably the more down and dirty of the two. My absolute fave songs were the last two...Lust Chance and Overloaded...very leather-and-handcuRAB. Pretty much the whole thing made me wanna get it on with someone in the VIP room of a crowded club. Durty...

I really liked the variety on JH's comp. Doorman was an instant turn on. If anyone says they didn't like French Kiss...well they are either dead inside or didn't have it turned up loud enough. And we won't talk about my thoughts while Push Up and Feelin' Love were playing...there's too many youngins up in here. ;)

Janszoon's mix:

Well again we took a different route and your choices are almost upbeat and juxtaposed with the lyrical content seems to be a guy who doesn't dwell on anything for too long. Loved the first Ween track and a perfect reminder that I have an album of theirs unlistened to yet. The ShoRAB track would be perfect to put on a cassette and posted to your ex as a snide remark :D

Stan Rigdway is a name I haven't heard for years but I have to say that I didn't much care for this track but I really liked the Heretix track.

This compilation makes me seem like a pessimistic bastard as it's quite upbeat and a celebration that she's gone! Great stuff. I may have to give the Heretix album a listen :D
