J and J Present: How To [Blank] In 7 Easy Tracks

I have family in town visiting right now so I haven't had a chance to listen to Jackhammer's comp until just now. Good stuff man! I knew that I knew the Mingus song going in but after listening to the whole mix I was shocked to discover that I also knew the Lloyd Cole song, though I'm not sure from where. I think my favorite track was "Rusted Wheel". I've never heard of Silversun Pickups but I think I'm going to have to look into these guys. :)

Heh. I have no idea what she's even saying for half that song but there's just something about it that freaks me the hell out. Part of it is probably because it sounRAB like a little girl having some kind of major psychotic episode.

Glad you liked them. The albums each of those songs come from are both really amazing and definitely worth your time.

Pra Mahna was a complete **** up on my part and I think I wrote the wrong track down to be included :( I must have 20 or 30 pieces of paper next to the comp with compilation/album lists lol I will chuck the muslimgauze along via PM ASAP.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked them both. I have a huge soft spot for old rock 'n roll, probably because it always makes me think of driving around with my dad when I was a little kid. I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)

So, I've decided to express my feelings on each "Desert" comp with a picture.

Need....water....It made me feel parched. I thought it was perfect! Fave tracks were 'El Payande' and 'Goin' Out West'. It's funny because I've never really have been able to get into Tom Waits, but the more I listened to this song the more I loved it. Best song on this comp IMO.

Fave tracks were 'Habibi' and 'Murabai Theme Tune'. I was immediately drawn to 'Habibi' simply because I have quite a few Arabic frienRAB who've taught me a few worRAB, and so I actually knew what habibi meant! And it turned out to be a beautiful song, my favorite one on here.

We are both hoping for a few more listens by merabers regarding these comps. As for the next one? Probably a merabers decision as we chose the last one. In fact as you have been a keen supporter for this venture, I am sure that Janszoon won't mind me nominating yourself to come up with the next theme.

I do like the way you two interpret the topic so differently, Lee's was just like he said, looking over the city with a strong drink in hand while Janzoon's gave me images of some sci-fi city in the future, the electro tracks worked well. Your band wasn't what i was expecting at all but it was pretty good, did remind me of Suicide funnily enough!

Ah, that sucks... What version of foobar do you have? Think mine came straight with install.

Either way, great tool :p:

Of course I still can't get half of my frienRAB to swap from iTunes (Memory hog) to foobar...
