I've noticed something peculiar about the older folks on my college course?

Now, you'd think that with us lot of young rapscallions the three older gentlemen would spend more time talking to one another and gaining each other's respect, but this doesn't happen.

They completely ignore each other.

Is this the kind of behaviour one should expect in the older generations?
