Please read details..? I have a standard 2005 Honda Civic and I recently purchased a sound system and I am having difficulties resolving a few problems with the sub woofers...
I have a Sony (1,000 Watt) amp and (2) Audio Bahn 12" subwoofers already in the box. The problem I am having is getting equal sound from both Subwoofers... With that being said, I did not (yet) purchase an aftermarket cd player, so I had to buy a RCA converter.
For those not famaliar with an RCA converter, it's a small device that has 4 soeaker wires that you hook to your rear factory speakers (left and right; +/-) wires and the output is the RCA wires that you hook straight into your amplifier. I am wondering if this is what is causing all of my problems...
I got the wires connected properly for the adapter, but only getting sound from the left channel when hooked up as directed... However, when I cross the rca wires to the amp, I still get sound, but it comes out of both speakers from one wire and sounds aweful. Also, if hooked up as directed, (while only 1 subwoofer is working) when I crank up the bass the subs will eventually kick off completely. There is still power to the amp which makes me think the RCA converter cannot handle the power the amp is pulling... I am trying to figure out if I buy a new cd player that comes with RCA output connectors, will it solve this problem... Or could it be a faulty amp?
I had a professional (my brother in-law) in electronics test the system and it keeps failing no matter how we hook it up. We spliced into the RCA wires that came with Amp Kit and wired directly to a rear factory speaker and still had problems..
Anyone have any suggestions or simple things to try to resolve this (hopefully without buying another cd player) but I would rather replace the cd player than the amp... Thanks in advance!!!!
