i got a 400 watt amp but been told to get i 150 watt rms is watt the same as watt rms? and can my 400 watt amp power my TS-W302R 800watt max. nom. 150 watt ?? cheers

If the TS is a 2 X 400, assuming that there are two subs in the box with each 400 watts, then the amp is actually not enough juice. The amplifier should always have at least the same amount of watts that the speakers and subs require, IE: an 800 Watt amplifier would successfully power a system with two 400 watt subs, whereas a smaller rms amp will not really do the job and may cause distortion and rough sound from your system.

should be fine, 400watts is just probably the peak rating, which meant its probably around a 100-150watt amp, go ahead, I've powered some 6X9's with a 400W (150Rms) amp, and i never blew em, so you should be fine running your sub like that
