And this tank has had quite a bit of work done to the mess underneath the hood. Yet, she's got 234,000 miles on her and has only had one owner previous of me. The interior is a mess. The seats are awful, and the carpet is the stained... it's far from appealing. However, I've done what I can with floor mats, shampoo, and seat covers. The paint job is alright, it's had some paint peel off on mainly one side of the car and it has a dent the size of a basketball on the right fender. Other than that, the tires are wonderful and she seems to run fairly smooth: never shut off on me except twice (which we've discovered is because of a loose connection.) However, we got the plugs and wires replaced today and you won't BELIEVE the different.
Yet, I've been thinking of selling it for something more fuel efficent and with less miles... seeing as I only carry myself around in this thing and rarely another individual.
My grandmother has a 1990 Geo Storm automatic and she's the original owner. This car only has a bit over 100,000 in miles and my friend looked at it and thinks it's worth investing in if I sell my car. It's been sitting in the yard for over 3 years (because something came up and she didn't have time to fix it.) We know there is probably a blown casket somewhere under there... and this type of car is definitely fuel-efficient. I've had another mechanic's opinion and he thinks that $1500 will not be enough to cover the repairs this Geo may need. ($1500 being the asking price of my Buick.)
So, any car specialists willing to share an opinion?

Sell the Geo... if you can get $500 or $1000 for it, that'd pay for a lot of gas for the Buick. If you can't pay for the Geo repairs by selling the Buick, it's not worth it. Especially after you get it fixed, you don't know what else might go wrong with it... an 18 year old car is bound to have some minor issues coming up.

Stick with the Buick, especially since you said yourself that it's running great!! It will last for a long time, and meanwhile, you can save up money for a newer, low-miles Civic or something.
