I've changed to a shark nose

When I test drove my new RG Ultra before I bought it, the handgrips were too high and forward. So I had them turn the handlebars down a little and it was fine. I rode a couple hundred miles Saturday and about one hundred Sunday and I didn't have any problem with the bars. It wasn't much different than what I felt on my Ultra Classic.

It does run hot. But I haven't had stage 1 done yet. I notice that when I ride around town and get in traffic, the system that turns the rear cylinder off kicks in. Temps here have been in the mid 80s lately. BTW, you have to activate that feature because it is not activated from the factory.

I really hadn't thought about buying a new bike this year, but when I saw the Merlot Sunglo on the showroom floor, I started thinking a lot more all of a sudden. BTW, right next to the RG Ultra was the Root Beer Ultra Classic. At first I wasn't sure which I liked better.

Thanks for the input, Ozoneman. Please update this thread over time, or send me a a pm on anything else that you notice that is a major difference between the Ultra and the Road Glide Ultra. The Road Glide Ultra may very well be our next bike, due to my arthritic knees.

Thanks also to all who posted about the vented windshields for the Road Glides. Much appreciated !

Are you wanting diffs between our older Ultra and the new RG Ultra or current year Ultra Classics and RG Ultras?

I just thought about another diff between my old Ultra and the new RG Ultra, and that is the seat. They went with a new seat in 2011. Supposed to be more narrow in the front and more comfortable.

Glad to see your priorities are straight and adding the cupholder before the stage 1. That sure is a good lookin bike. How many miles on it since you made the change from the batwing? And are you converted for life? I keep thinking I may have to make the transition myself.
