Ive been having problems with my Toyota Corolla 02?

I went to pump my gas today and after i was done pumping, i went to turn my car on and it started shaking and my RPM needle kept going up and down between 1000 and under. I turned my car off and waited a couple seconds, turned it on again and same thing happened. I let it sit for a couple seconds and I had the bright idea(sarcasm) to rev it a little. It sounded find but when i let go of the pedal, it went back under 1000 and kept going up and down in that range. Now the shaking was gone but Im sure that my RPMs shouldnt be that low. What could it be? How can I fix it? If i cant fix it, how much would it cost me (ball park. Guesstimate if you will) to fix it.
 
make sure you didnt put diesal or go back to the store you put gas and ask if there been any complains maybe there is water in the fuel

Scan it with an OBD II reader and get the trouble code. Look that up to see what the problem is. Since this happened after fueling I'd suspect the fuel. Maybe you got a load of water in the gas. Adding gas dryier might help burn that off if that's the problem.
