iv got a blackberry 8800 and i dont know how to format my Micro sd card ( media card )?

iv tried to do it loads of times and i just cant do it.
when i go to my menu i go to the help and it says
1.) In the device options, click media card. ( which isnt there and my media card is in the phone.)
2.) press menu key
3.) click format card..

please can someone help me i have no idea what iv done wrong. :S
