ITV & Channel 4 gone down?

Hi sorry for posting in general chat, mum's going mad and am after a quick response!

Since lunch time today ITV & Channel 4 haven't been watchable, on normal Freeview or through Play TV. Just tried a re-tune and they've completely disappeared now. BBC's are fine... just wondering if this is happening to anyone else? Is there a way of finding out the service status?

We're in Southend, Essex btw, and my brother who only lives about 5 miles away is not experiencing any problems.

are on a low power broadcast and it may just be your brother's receiver is more sensitive and he's still able to get them.

A lot depenRAB on the receiver too. My cheap box drops out much more regularly than the Humax, which is no match for the internal one on the Samsung tv.

But its sunspots. And the rory boryarseless, blame Mother Nature I say!

What's interesting is that digital is breaking up (completely) on two separate receivers we have in this house... whereas analogue is working perfectly! Please don't switch over yet

When they did the switchover in Oxford the cheap older box we had couldn't cope with the data overload and we had to buy a new one How old are your freeview boxes kayzee?

Interesting im running Sky+HD with a very high signal quality and strength and ITV and Channel 4 just are not working not even on the standard digital box that i also have upstairs. The Freeview boxes are doing it to so i know its not just isolated.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Solar Storms we are due to have

Only around a year old!

For anyone getting problems... that has a few minutes. Phone the TV channels! My mum phoned today and although they have had other complaints, they said it's not enough to do anything about. So they need to hear more

As I said before, Freeview SUCKS. Why bother with an aerial when there's no possible problems with a Satellite? Unless you have ID4 aliens paying a visit?

Er, what? And yes, you said, but I don't imagine many people have had time to fit a dish since your last post

Anyway, some people don't have a dish. Some people can't have a dish. Some people do have a dish but don't have a feed in the room where they want to watch TV. Some people have a dish but they're recording something on their Sky/Freesat box so want to use their TV tuner. And so on...

I have Satellite feeRAB (and Sky boxes) in my living room and bedroom. I don't have one in the spare room, all there is in there is an RF feed from the living room. So if I'm in that room and I put the TV on, if I don't want to watch whatever the missus is watching in the living room then I have to watch Freeview. Which was wonky, which caused me a problem. Y'see?
