ITV Central News - transsexual newsreader?

I swear one of the "male" newsreaders on ITV Central News used to be a woman. That is NOT a middle-aged man's voice and "his" face also looks quite feminine i.e. very smooth. Can anyone confirm?

His gynaecologist maybe? :)

Seriously, though, who can confirm speculation of an unnamed figure based on your impression of a voice?

Plus there can be other reasons for softer voices or faces.

I can appreciate your curiousity but if it were true and said person wanted it to be known then it would be.

Otherwise they should probably just be judged on how good they are at their job.

Yeah, he's been on the local news since the late 70s at least. He's got to be in his late 60s now.

Not sure what the OP means about a 'soft face' for the other reporter. He may be softly spoken but I wouldn't consider that he looks like a transexual.

Of course Jon Willetts isnt transgender, this is a ridiculous thread, he doesnt have a soft voice he has a normal voice. Are you 15 and trying to impress mates OP?

Many moons ago BBC Breakfast had two gay presenters (one male, the other female). It took the bosses quite a while to work out why there was no ''sexual chemistry'' between them:eek:

My lips are sealed
Why do news programmes with two presenters always have one male and one female - why can't they have two men or two women regardless of sexuality, is it something to do with equality laws ?

They don't. It's not infrequent for BBC News to have two women presenters - though I don't think I've ever seen two men presenting.
I think the reason is simple tokenism. They're far too scared of busybodies criticising them.

Having two men or two women I think would make it feel either too masculine or too feminine. I think it works out best to have a man and woman. In my head with 2 men/women I just see 2 of the same presenter sitting next to each other.
