iTunes Genius

I'm addicted to it.
(For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, you pick the first song, and they make a mixtape of 25, 50, 75, or 100 songs based on your first pick. And its awesome.)
Do you guys like it, or use it, or hate iTunes with a passion, or have no opinion whatsoever?

I was all for WMP...but then I tryed iTunes and saw the huge art and Coverflow, and just stuck with it lol...and I don't even have an iPod!

Rarely, but that's just because I prefer to listen to whole albums and when I do listen to mixes they're ones that I create.
I use geniua more on the itunes store for suggestion purposes.

Really? Even the filler?
I'm covinced Apple hardwired Genius to read my mind for my musical tastes and preferences to filter out all the **** in my library.....

I pretty much hate anything that tells me what I should be listening to so itunes go F.O and that's why I never listen to the radio or do music TV (unless Peelie was still alive- he was the only DJ who never bored me).

I know, its a pain, but now I have a neatly organized library of backup CRAB. And last time I tried to download illegally, a virus wrecked havok on my (ancient, but beside the point) desktop...

I rarely download from iTunes as well, but they do make the best MP3 players. I swear, I can get 2 used CRAB from Amazon with shipping for the cost of one MP3 file from iTunes. So I guess I just use the software.

Wow, thanks for showing me that site.......
Its amazing.......

If I'm looking for a mix I'll log on to Pandora. Now that's a case of a program reading my mind. Genius just uses algorhytms that are based on predictable criteria and tags.

how do you know it's filler till you listen to it? i find that many times when i buy albums, my favorite songs are the little known tracks on cRAB instead of the big hit(s) that i bought it for in the first place

I don't buy music from the itunes store, but I do use it to get band/album/song/discography info, usually just before I download it from somewhere else. It's very resourceful that way. I download a lot of podcasts and lectures from the itunes store, but hey, its free.
I've not experienced any problems with itunes, but I've always owned a Mac since I've been using it. I really don't have any experience with any other music server so I have no real basis for comparison.

I like this, because there are some albums where I only like two or three songs, and the rest just suck.

I use last.fm though, way better...and it's not limited to your library. Once I get a Nano I will use it a lot though.

I hate iTunes with a ****ing fiery passion of a thousand suns. I had over 300 dollars worth of music on my laptop that I wanted to transfer over to my desktop, but I use Winamp now, well iTunes wasn't about to let me just move those songs I bought over and I couldn't find a conversion software. Actually it's kind of a blessing in disguise because it assuaged any guilt I had about downloading music, because at least when I download something, I actually own it, and not a license to listen to it as long as I use their software and abide by their rules.

Yeah, but think of the artists you're NOT hearing...I've found out so many banRAB from stations on last.fm, and if you don't like it..turn it off lol!

But there are many songs that you may have never heard otherwise unless the station played it...and don't tell me you know every artist in the genre you like, because I'm pretty sure there are some you haven't heard.
