It's good for a rant or a laugh, but have you changed?

I know an atheist would never change sides. We're far too sensible, but have any religious people ever had a change of heart after reading replies to their questions on this forum, or are we wasting our time here? Do we have a chance at saving anyone?
Okay sugaree. What was I thinking?

I have. I had fallen into this lull where I had been only really in the close company of folks in my religion. I had forgotten the hateful, spiteful, illogical and sometimes plain scary things the Christians can come up with.

I had forgotten that there were people like Southern Cross Warrior. It's important to not feel safe and secure when those folks are around. When you don't interact with them, it's easy to start thinking everyone else is as reasonable and tolerant as you are.

I won't forget again.

You'll NEVER save anybody as there's nothing to save them from.

Besides, both atheists, agnostics, freethinkers on one side and the theists on the other are commiting the same basic folly and that is "preaching to the converted"

The atheist remains an atheist, the agnostic remains unknowing and the Theist still prefers to grovel at the feet of his capricious God.

I have no problem with God anyway. God even MIGHT exist.

The problem is not God, but faith, religion the phony BS contructed and and edifice built of sand by humans.

God may exist. I still see no need for sacrifice, prayer, praise or grovelling like some idiotic slave or dog begging for a bone and hoping not to have God's size 13 boot shoved up poor pooch's ass.

Even if God's existence be proven it's a long long way to Tipperary and to doctrines of virgin births, trinitarian nonsense, or "sin".

I believe in Nature as the Supreme Power, the Ultimate Source of my being. Nature made me. To Nature I'll return.

Nature IS, and is not MADE by anybody. Therefore, Nature has herself the same exact qualities as God minus the repugnant BS contruct of religion.

In fact, those who adore Nature, whether they deify her or not, do so by the practice of science not faith-based constructs of intellectual filth.

If God exists, science will discover Her, or Him or Them.

Faith is nothing but a belief in the ridiculous, the absurd, in that which has NO foundation in reality, NO substantiation, no evidentiary basis, no empirical foundation in reality.

It is nothing but wishful thinking.

If I believe it HARD enough it is true? FALSE
If enough people believe it, it becomes true? FALSE.
If the majority believe it, it is certain? FALSE
If it would be better for us if true, it is true? FALSE

But Christianity more than any other faith takes pride in the utter ridiculousness of their doctrines.

The more idiotic the teaching is, the more faith required, hence the more CERTAIN.

leave us alone to believe what we want
no matter what somebody like you says about god we wont stop believing, for a start, your attitude doesnt even start to convice me that being an athiest is the right way
