It's easy to predict who dies in horror film,

just by looking at the cases. They centre around the surviour and the ones that die are portrayed as small showing they WILL die. Take I know waht you did last summer (Love Hewitts character is smack bang larger than the other 3), rather annoying cause you look at the case and your like they'll die she'll live, he'll go first then them two then him nearer the end.
 
The sex mad male teenager usually gets killed.

It is obvious who will be there till the end credits but sometimes they get killed...which has nearly become as cliched as the main character staying alive.
 
Scream lays out the stereotypes pretty well along with some general horror rules.
 
Most of the time yes, but sometimes its not always the case.

The girls who show their tits off are killed, people who have sex die, drugs, you better believe you are going to be cut.

However one chatacter that stanRAB out is the one girl in nightmare on elm street 5... coloured girl, she was kinda annoying through out the film and you asume she was going to die, however she survived... so its not always the case.
 
I'd also like to mention the blonde girl at the start of the original Nightmare on Elm Street. She was in the opening of the movie, introducing you to the fact that she is being stalked by Freddie in her nightmares. I automatically assumed that she would be the main character in this film who would eventually survive - but she was killed by Freddie first!
