It's been 5 years

Congratulations on reaching the top of the hill. Within the past six
months many of my friends have just begun the climb.

Best wishes for continued clean results.

It's been 5 years this month since I completed my radiation
treatments. My final CT scan came in clean and my doctor has
discharged me. I've been so scared about that last scan, I worried
that something would show up at the final test.
I can't even feel happy or excited yet, I'm too close to tears.

Bite me, gorilla man!! :-P

Appointment with the oncologist next week, along with the last of this
round of scans. Trying to get a couple done at once (at the Mater
Private), but one is with one Xray company (Southern Cross?) and the other
is with S&N (I think), and neither want to work with the other.... one
won't do me because the other is giving me drugs (for the MRI.... I *need*
something to keep me in that tiny little mettalic coffin!!) and they want
to wait till the drugs are out of my system etc...... I really don't want
to spend two days at the damn place!!

I've got a Croation friend who lives over that way, I'll send her to your
place and she'll talk/nag you to death :-)

Depending how things go this round of tests, I'm looking at a '2nd'
birthday party come August. I'll let you know closer to the time. Had my
1st b'day party last year after the treatment.... so after this next one,
in 16 years, I'll be 18 again :-)

All healed, just need a stabilizer for my gut. Seems to change daily as to
what I can eat and can't. What's good one day, makes me sick as a dog the
next.

Must be something to do with enzyme levels etc in the gut.

I beg to differ!!

And yes, I was 18 in both those shots, just about to turn 19 in the shot with
the snakes. But I know what you mean...... I was 18 going on 45.

Maybe this time round, in 16 years time, I can act like an adolescent 18yo
and not give a rats about anything :-)

I am so very happy you have passed it.

May the stress and difficulties of these past 5 years fade quickly
from memory.
You are one of the lucky ones who beat cancer. My SiL
has had liver cancer for more than two years now. She was taking an
experimental chemo that seemed to be working, but almost killed her,
and
when it stopped reducing hte size of th tomor she opted to stop the
therapy
