Every now and then I get intense itching on my thighs while working out! It's very annoying. The itchy areas also turn very red. I did a lot of research on this in the past and overall it seemed that it was a circulation issue. I found that my skin on the itchy areas would be hot, but not sweating like the rest of my body. Unfortunately I never found a way to completely deal with the problem, but I make sure to wear cotton clothing, always warm up and cool down, and avoid running out in windy or cool weather. Luckily it has gotten better with time. Another cause may be an irritation to sweat. I'd try an antihistamine, as suggested by the previous poster, to see if that helps. Some people are bothered by sweat. Also be sure to try using a small 100% cotton towel to dry off sweaty areas during your workouts and this may help some too!
