I've heard that too. But not sure if it's true. I took mine out of my steering wheel. That is after the one in my dads car almost caused me to get into a wreck when it suddenly popped out in my face and I couldn't see where the hell I was going and almost hit head on with another car.
I hate those things. I think they cause more harm than good.
