It is as if people were not taught basic politeness OR tack..?

This got me thinking.. the other day I walk into work , there is a lady at waiting to check in, I had never met her before, as I walk by she says "I wouldn't be caught dead walking out of the house with pins in my pants.". I had a new pair of slacks that are too long so I have pined them up a little.. you really can't tell unless you really look.. she must have.. this 'lady' was about my age, 40. I was shocked at what I thought was just rude of her saying this to a total stranger.

then it got me to thinking, I see this all the time.. even my daughter has had this happen to her before.. at a wedding she went to last year, she was about 8 month pregnant and bought a new dress to go (cause being pregnant she didn't have a dress that would fit). she said a lady walks up to her and said "you should have more respect for yourself then to go out in a dress like that".. my daughter god love her told the lady (who she did not know and had never see before ) to F*CK off.

the ONLY thing you could say about the dress was that it went past her knee's,, BUT for this total stranger to walk up to her and say this floors me..

NOW, I have had people walk up and use the "OH honey you got some food in your teeth" that IS polite, but then I also have had people stand next to me and say "what is that smell?) Look at me..."OH its your perfume, went a little strong with it today I see, you need to cut back a little",, TOTAL strangers.

I was NEVER taught this growing up.. you didn't like something about someone you did NOT know, you NEVER say anything to them..

WHY are people so out and out rude now a days..?
