It begins!

Here are some pics of my bike just back from the shop. After EXTENSIVE shopping around, I settled on a Bully FIC and a set of Roadburner 3" Drag Pros for my '08 C50. The pipes look incredible and as soon as I pushed the start button and fired it up for the very first time I knew I'd made the right choice. I swapped in the K&N filter but have yet to mod the airbox and just taking the scenic route home it's like riding the bike again for the first time. Maybe it was all in my head but she pulls like hell, I get that same giddy feeling twisting the throttle now as when I first moved up from the 250 I started on. The weather is supposed to be beautiful for the next several days and I can't wait to get out there and enjoy it some more.

For anyone curious about the volume, it's....damn. Describing it won't do it any justice but I WILL say that I definitely know now what people mean about loud pipes on a long ride. In the city they sound so evil as you row through the gears *gives me shivers* but somewhat akin to the comments/concerns about how fast a C50's engine turns at highway speeds (hence a lot of desire for DJ drives etc), in 5th gear at 110 km/h these pipes produce a steady ROAR. Without a windshield, I am not sure I will ever do much long distance cruising in the near future (aside from Port Dover next August) but if I do...a visit to smartpartz.com may be required first.

Suffice to say, I am one happy monkey. OOK OOK!!

Looks great and you did it right getting the Bully and the pipes together and matching everything right at the start. That way you don't have to fight those drivability issues.

Thanks everyone! :) The last step is to drill the extra holes in the airbox, I've been told that it will "drastically improve performance" though it's pretty impressive already, I'll be satisfied if it eases the rich condition I think I am running now. A coworker was driving behind me on the way in to work today and said he could smell gas...would that be a sign of running rich?

Ha ha Vinnie man, I've seen the term "depaired" thrown around in here before and finally had to look up 'pair valve' when you said that and it turns out I'd always noticed it but was never sure what it actually did. After researching the removal, (something to do with a guy named Moccasin Mike?) the procedure looks simple enough except for where they mention a "plate" you need to fill a gap? That and I am not entirely sure how it would impact an emissions test here...come to think of it, I'm not even sure if bikes get e-tested at all. Looks like I've got some homework to do courtesy of Prof Frostbite.

Take care!

Good looking pipes, and the Bully is a good choice. Definately worth it for Moc's kit, and keep his site bookmarked. Great guy too- I was riding with he and his wife a couple weeks ago in Kentucky, along with Gary of G-Man Industies and some others. A coupe people joked that if they ever had to break down, in the company of us three was the time to do it LOL!
