Issues with Droid X (verizon)?

My Droid seems to be having some issues. It's very slow when I try to do anything! included getting into my camera to take a picture, text messaging is my main problem though. Every time I receive a message I get multiple copies of the same message even hours later, usually between 4-6 of them. It happens when anyone sends me a message so I know it is my phone. It did it a few weeks ago and I updated my advanced task killer (going in several times a day and "kill" selected items) but today there seems to be no items to "kill" and that is very unusual and deleted almost all of my applications even though I don't download many at all. It was perfect up until today now it is doing it all over again. Anything I can do to help it without doing a complete restore on the phone, I don't want to lose all of my photos on my phone and it would take me forever to send them all to my computer since it's so slow and without going to verizon. My husband has the same phone and is having no issues with his. help?? 10 points =) Thanks!
