i doubt shas would join the leftists... i think they will have to join the rightists despite their beef with beitenu.

shas is pissed that lieberman wants israel to be a pork producing powerhouse
 
The last poll prior to the Feb. 10th elections has come out indicating a jump in support for the Kadima party (though they are still slightly behind the Likud party).

The Likud are expected to capture 25 seats
Kadima is expected to capture 23
Yisrael Beiteinu is expected to capture 19
And the Labor Party is set to capture 16

If you could have the head of one of the four major players in this elections win, who would it be?
 
According to this article, raising pigs for food is illegal in Israel, but they get around it by saying it's for medical research but still sell the meat.

Make something illegal and all you do is create a dangerous black market for it. Every economist knows this. Why hasn't G-d figured it out?

As far as I know, observant Jews can certainly come into physical contact with pigs and handle them, but they cannrabroad

h of these groups created these laws because pigs were seen as unclean animals. Or maybe Muslims adopted this Jewish prohibition and added it to their own religion.

Those are the only explanations that I can come up with.

Edit: This has to do with Jewish Kosher/Muslim Halal rules.
