Israel WTF!!

Ideally, we'd have powers in each region keep their pests in check. We heavily sponsered Iran and the Shah (sp?) during the 70s in an effort to have Iran be both an anticommunist state in the region (important during the cold war) and we tried to make them the power in the region responsible for maintaining regional security. Of course, the ayatollah felt their government was straying from it's religion by aligning itself with the americans, hence the revolution, and their strongly supported antiwestern views. That plan backfired, based on the differences of religion and culture.

In today's times, we're looking towards China as a massive trade partner to exert itself into the world scene by denouncing the behaviours of NK, as they should, however, they're failing to do any direct action as they've been allies in the past (how many chinese did we kill during the korean war after all ). China of course fears the militarization of Japan, because that'd be a counter to their development as a regional power...by all means, Japan needs to build it's armed forces and become an influence in the region...more so than China...regardless of their trade influence.

The Cold War wasn't anything close to WWII. Some brush fire wars and the two biggest kids on the play ground staring each other down is not the same as major conflicts all over the globe.

That's great if it's a war between two civilized countries. Put yourself in Israel's shoes though. As soon as they came into existance they were at war and they've been dealing w/ a bunch of savages blowing themselves up INTENTIONALLY targeting civilians for decades now. Sorry, but they have the right to take off the kiddie gloves and fight. ...and they still ARE playing by the rules, just not to the degree the rest of the world seems to want them held accountable. Backseat drivers....just put yourself in their shoes for a minute though.
 
It would be a lot easier to leave the Lebanese people out of it, if Hebollah hadn't built all their bases in Civilian areas and public buildings...
 
if Israel really wanted a bloodbath they could have had it by now... but their objective isn't civilians. Yes some are killed, even one is too many...

but there have been more then a few Israeli civilian killed too, by rockets which have no other purpose then to kill civilians... the IDF isn't hiding in bunkers under buildings in Hifia and Naharia yet that's where the rockets are being aimed at
 
Israel is so use to being attacked that they have measures in place to protect its civilians.

The terrorists Israel fights though loves to hide amongst the civilians population in the HOPE that the civilians will die. This is how they recruit.

Why, I read in the paper today that Israel has been doing LEAFLET drops to warn civilians about attacks Israel will be doing.
 
Yeah, well, if all of Israel's neighbours would stop attacking Israel and then LOSING, then Israel wouldn't be occupying their land
