I guess to maintain a military conquest such as this, or any of them, you have to put a point value on groups of people to determine worth.
 
Now this I don't have a definite answer, but what they are doing is just stupid, it's not teaching the Arab nations anything and it's just going to result in more and more deaths.
 
well i wasn't even really given an opportunity to open a dialogue before stimpy marched in declaring he's the end-all source to situation. by then it became clear it wasn't even worth it to dive into this clusterfuck of a thread, especially since i should be studying for my midterm in a hour...

Should they have tried that for longer do you think? Maybe when all their citizens had been kidnapped and killed they would stop?
 
The Israelis are backed by the Geneva Conventions. If enemy combatants are indistinguishable from civilians, then military forces are entitled to engage them.

This entitlement extends to engaging enemy forces who are deliberately hiding among civilians

Protocol IV, Article 51: “The presence or movements of the civilian population or individual civilians shall not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations, in particular in attempts to shield military objectives from attacks or to shield, favor or impede military operations."
 
Now you need to go and look up what superior means.

These armchair military strategists who would have a 0 civilian mortality rate have about 0 concept of the history or logistics of the situation. They just look at some statistic and go "oooh....Israel is BAD!!!! "

And anyone who thinks the IAF or any other air force would use precision guided munitions on random civilian targets is a moron. There's absolutely no point in doing something like that. If you want to cause terror among the civilian population you use dumb munitions and bomb completely indiscriminately. Anyone seen pictures of cities that were bombed in WWII? Sure as fuck didn't look anything like Beirut.
 
No, obviously it should go and kill HUNDREDS of civilians AND increase Hezbolah membership AND occupy Lebanon for another 8 years.
