Does anyone know the difference or why the gel is so much cheaper? I am curiuous to know if anyone has used the gel and has any comments on it.

I am currently cleared of my cystic acne via mino and taz cream and a very gentle skincare regiman....but now I want to rid my extremely oily skin and my derm said I could try Accutane to jump kick my body into less oil production....obviously NO oily production for a bit....but then after it may reprogram my body (becasue we've tried many other things and I still have acne on my back, chest and upper arms)....my face is mostly clear now, just scars.

Any thoughts on the gel vs. the capsules of Accutane? Do they work the same or am I better of taking out a loan for the Accutane LOL?

Anyone? Yes I know the cons of Accutane....please do not comment if you wish to rip on me about Accutane.....thank you.

Ok, so obviously no one has heard of it. I have a derm appointment this monday and I'm going to ask about it and I will post my derm's answers on here.

I don't know why, but i've heard the Topical Gel form of Accutane (Isotrex) is basically like a retinoid such as Retin-A. The effects are totally different from the oral form which is likely why it costs drastically less.

kwitter,

I see that we both suffer from cystic acne and use oral antibiotic and taz cream. Well I am seeing MAJOR improvement with this corabo but wanted to ask you if you ever tried DUAC for your oiliness?? I use it in the morning and it really has gotten rid of that shine during the day. Just an option for you maybe...... Good luck Monday.

I have used Isotrex and it worked wonders within a month. I would recommend this product, it is very drying to start with but in a good way if you know what i mean.
