Isn't the Samsung Moment better than the HTC MyTouch Slide?

And the moment came out months ago...

Has a faster processor.. slightly smaller screen.

It depends on what you need. The Moment has or will have DiVx support, a better screen, better processor. But its a CDMA phone meaning your stuck with it for the duration of your contract, its on Sprint and it will not see an update after 2.1. The MT3G Slide already has 2.1, a new and better UI, it will definitely get updates past 2.1, it will definetly have more dev support and its GSM so if you get tired of it, pop in another sim and use something else. And the MT3G isnt slow at all and it comes with an 8GB card and has more RAM than the Moment. RAM is more important in Android than CPU speed, my Nexus is always underclocked to 6 something and its still faster than my G1, Cliq and the MT3G.

Well those other phones (at least 2 of them) have less than 600mhz, so they SHOULD operate slower than N1

Moment has better screen? How so? I know the Slide's screen is bigger but I didn't know the resolution or accuracy was worse.

Because the Moment's screen is AMOLED, the Slide screen is bigger so that might make the screen contest even. I run all those at full blast 528, I can put my Nexus at 460 min and max and its still faster. RAM is more important the CPU speed in Android, its what eliminates lag.

Well I prefer the Samsung Moment which I own and have had a fantastic experience with because of its faster than average processor and AMOLED display

^Must have been a typo on the site I pasted specs from..

http://www.techalps.com/android/mytouch-3g-slide-shows-its-specs.html

That site says 512ram. Which is still good, but it's just annoying that the Moment outspecs this thing... but I guess technically the Moment outspecs the Droid too, with that 800mhz processor.

Wonder why the Slide has 4 row keyboard instead of 5 like the G1? That's odd considering the Slide has a bigger screen.

Is it too much to ask for? A snapdragon and 5 rows of keys? That's all I want.. I swear lol. If that were the case I would be salivating for this thing... but now Im just gonna buy it because I'm sick of looking at my G1. In 6 months the thing will be an antique. Can't believe I got my G1 18 months ago and am 'upgrading' from 528 to 600 mhz (even with the significant Ram upgrade).

It's not for everybody but it doesn't out spec the slide just because of the CPU. I think its safe to say that anybody would take a 3.4 inch screen over a 3.2 even if it is AMOLED.

"Samsung Moment update to Android 2.1 available at long last"

Another plus for the Moment. I def am bailing in the Slide. Can't have a 9 month old phone besting my new one lol. I'm so shallow. I hope the Shadow is legit and on t-mobile, although I'm more inclined to think that's the DROID 2. Guess I can wait a few months to see if t-mob or verizon get a slider with a decent processor and screen size.
