Isn't the pork loin roast a gray color if you don't brown it before cooking in the slow

cooker? I have found it necessary to brown before cooking in the slow cooker. It's a pain, so if someone knows a better way please let me know. I am sitting here typing with the roast on my lap. Hope one of you experts are here.
