...God's image a huge sin of vanity? I mean we are alive...just like all the other plants, animals, bacteria, etc.
We eat, sleep, breed and die. All else we do is really immaterial when you look at it from an outside point of view. All our knowledge doesn't change the universe or the laws of nature.
So basically we are really clever animals
So the idea that humanity is better than all other life..that we are created in God's image just seems like the biggest exercise of vanity ever conceived of.
I mean what if God really looks like a dog and that is why dog is God spelled backward...but we stomp around saying god looks like us
And as for the "given dominion over the beasts" I say go into the wild and start a fight with a grizzly bear and see how much dominion you have..that dominion is over tame animals..not wild ones which makes it a falsehood to say we have dominion over all beasts.
Anyway not saying humanity is horrible but maybe we should kinda get over ourselves just a little bit?
Maybe stop thinking all of creation was nothing more than a thing to give humanity something to play with?
