Whatever your opinions are on the shootout are inconsequential; I am just asking if this commonly used phrase isn't stupid because:
HOCKEY the sport IS a "skills competition", as are sports in general. The purpose of sports is, "Hey, my team has more skill than yours. Let's have a competition to prove it."
Thus, calling the shootout a "skills competition" shows no clear thought.
Yeah, but I clearly didn't ask for opinions on the shootouts...I am specifically talking about the main complaint levied against the shootout (i.e. "skills competition").
