I'm a local of Hawaii born in Honolulu and Asian/White mix. To be quite honest I get along best with other Hawaii locals born and raised in the islands regardless of their race. But my parents and extended family aren't local and were born and raised outside Hawaii so I can also get along with most other people too.
Culture is more important than race in my opinion anyway. I probably would enjoy hanging out with stereotypical Jamaicans in Jamaica because of its beaches/weather and laid back culture being very similar to Hawaii more than I would like hanging out with stereotypical Chinese in Beijing even though I'm half Asian because the culture/climate of Jamaica is much more like Hawaii than Beijing. And that's even though Hawaii is majority Asian.
