...and the people? its kind of like what we are going through now. If so thats sad that people are doing that again. liberal people must be insane

No not really, America just decided one day that it didn't want to help South Vietnam any more and pulled out of the war. It was costing too much and going nowhere. The same will happen with Iraq.

ACTUALLY THE HEAD GENERAL OF VIETNAM SAID ONE MORE DAY OF BOMBING BY THE US AND THEY WOULD OF BEEN READY TO SURRENDER. HE SAID THAT IN HIS MEMOIRS. AND STUPID HANOI JANE"JANE FONDA". ITS JUST LIKE NOW WITH ALL OF THESE STUPID HOLLYWOOD ACTIVISTS. I WISH TERRORIST WOULD ATTACK HOLLYWOOD SO THEY WOULD MAYBE ACT LIKE AMERICANS ONCE AGAIN AND PULL THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR A$$ES

No, they lost that war because the people of Vietnam believed they were right to defend their homeland against an aggressor. That is the reason the Allies beat Hitler. Their backs were against the wall and they won. The Russians were the same. They were defending their homeland.
America had everything at their disposal, but they could defeat the vietnamese spirit.
Apart from anything else. It was a useless waste of so many young lives for what proved to be nothing!

The USA pulled out because American people were sick of their sons getting killed while South Vietnamese were largely doing nothing to save their country. In 1968 the US troops weekly death toll was 500 plus.
