Isn't it expensive to maintain a Hybrid Toyota Prius, is it worth buying?

Or more than a normal car?

1- You have to have it fixed/adjusted by a mechanic who knows how to fix Hybrids.

2- The engine is different.

3- Its all electric.

And it feels like we are "Guinea Pigs" "Trying Out" the cars. Just like diesel trucks turned out not good.
What I meant was-
"guinea pig"- no one has said that the Hybrid is going to be around for like a decade, the diesel back then was the economy saver and people were buying them instead. The diesel fuel was also more expesive than than now. Plus U don't see people making Diesls anymore.

Honestly yes, you will need a mechanic knowing what he's doing (usually at Toyota). Also I think you have to change the batteries every 4 years or so? And they're a few thousand dollars.

I'll give you points 1 and 2 - Toyota trained techs are the only ones that should service the car.

As for #3 - it isn't all electric - it is both internal combustion and electric.

GM's failed diesel attempts of the 70s does not mean that diesel is "not good." Today's diesel engines are very efficient and in many ways better than the current hybrid technology.

Actually, there is less maintenance. The gasoline engine runs less, the electric motor is extremely durable and the batteries are proving to be rugged. If you do manage to mess the car up somehow, of course you will find many mechanics who aren't versed in hybrid cars to be afraid to study it. The controllers which select engine power, electric power or combinations of the two are complex, but the two different motors are basic.

Who told you diesel trucks turned out not good, and what was the good they expected? Diesels have their purpose and some other uses may have disadvantages. A few auto makers managed to cobble up some lousy diesel engines. Those crappy Rube-Goldberg things they built back in the 1970's and '80s by turning gasoline engines into diesels for cheaper operation demonstrated that you shouldn't try and make a "silk purse from a sow's ear". Later, the price of diesel was raised because more people started using it and that venture played out. There are groups who examine all machinery to describe potential problems.

Just watch.
