A plane makes an emergency landing in an uncharted part of Canada and the race is on to find it before everyone aboard freezes to death.
A John Wayne movie in which he actually plays someone who isn't infallible.
Apart from a misjudged voiceover and some obvious fake exteriors, this is a great movie and is beautifully shot in glorious black and white, creating an impression of sub-zero temperatures which colour never really manages.
By the end I was tempted to switch on the central heating.
