Islamic cultures: Why is it always a case of the absolutes? ?

Why do Muslims have to be absolutely Islamic [and always in the exact way as everyone else]?

Alternatively, why do offspring go so far out of bounds when they do 'stray'?

Surely some balance is required? Too many Muslim kids have issues with strict Muslim parenting and have nowhere to turn for adult understanding of their issues. It's almost as if these kids are orphans. Why has there been no balance created yet?

That said, other religions have not found balance- just ignorance or 'forgetfulness'... where do they draw lines and where do they make bridges? And how?
I will say this: The Qura'an and Islam is not what I question - it is Islamic Culture. The people. We don't know what God meant or whether he actually said those things or even whether he actually exists.

Islam is much more than simply a religion, it has infiltrated (for want of a better word) their entire culture. Where I work for example, class breakes are structured around prayer times. Simply saying hello is 'peace be with you', where you would say I hope so, they say inshallah - god willing.

I don;t doubt there are some who have gone off the rails, but I suspect much less than in a western culture. I have never met any. In fact, where I live there is little or no crime or violence. I can walk anywhere in the city at any time without fear simply because society here is strongly based on Islam

The only reason I do not convert is that I can't bring myself to believe in a god
