Islamic Civilization?

Hi, has anyone ever taken an Islamic Civilization class in college? or, even something like Islamic civilization. If so, how was it? What was it focused on? whatever you can tell me about it or anything related to would be of great appreciation. Thanks so much!

I have, and since I was unfamiliar with Middle Eastern history and politics it was kind of difficult, but rewarding at the same time since now I am quite interested and informed in Islam, unlike many. I remember learning about the Ottoman Empire.
 
I think you'll enjoy it.
Its a story of Ancient Empires and feuds that caused the original Islam to break into many sects.
