if a country wants to limit its population then it should do so by not letting people in or doing what china does. and if it wants to be racist and only let people from their cultures to move in then they should make it explicit. but turning gears and becoming racist doesn't mean that the state should have a free pass to treat its residents however they want. and it doesn't suspend human nature and how it reacts to hostile authority. if france has a problem it's the state's own fault. ditto for britain
freedom and pluralism aren't utopian, they are what they are and they come with their own set of worries.
