well guys i think it depend on root size ... it should be like 1000 mb so u can enjoy it .. here i have 2 iphone 3G 8 & 16 both working great ... i changed the size of root . when it was in default it was kinda slow .
 
I've upgraded my 3G 16GB model MB496B, and with multitasking enabled, my phone is working fine. Jailbreak through redsn0w .95 B

What I don't get,I have 2 spares iPhone 3G 16gb
Had multitasking enable on both, 1 works fine the other one is so slow,restored the slow one and did not enable multitasking it's still so slow compared to the one with multitasking
How can this be possible?

My unlocked iPhone 3g 8GB iOS4 from UK it's too slow after multitask enabled

i think apple, don't anctivate it on 3g simply because the uprocessor isn't fast enougth for supporting multitasking

iOS without multitask work a little bit slowly too compared to 3.1.3iOS

Also to add on model is MB702LL and I never jailbroke it and have no idea how to enable/disable multitasking (dont think i can with 3G) and don't see any new wallpaper features.

Out of the original features phone, safari, mail, photos, youtube, notes and calculator open pretty fast, but ipod, maps, messages, clock, camera and settings are much slower than before. Transitions between application menus left and right were choppy at first, but now seem to be smooth.
 
an sorry for so many posts, but for some reason i can only edit a message once.

typing in text especially in txt messaging is really slow too. just now it froze after one word and went back to the home screen. This also kept happening when I was trying to put in a password for smtp mail server options.

Somehow it seems like making 4.0 available for 3G is a way for users to switch to new phone. But it has me so pissed off I probably won't even get an iphone. Apple is way too arrogant.

my iphone 3G is slower than 3.1.3 before... especialy camera speed is damn slow... other than tat is fine... only not smooth as 3.1.3.... now i am going to JB... see how later,,....
 
Go to Settings>General>Reset
choose "Reset All Settings"

wait till reboot and feel the difference.
 
Phone is slow to respond, touch screen freezes up (requiring restart to resolve), and just overall laggy. Not sure this "update" was worth it.

8GB (5+ GB still available, so it's not as if the phone is full)

Iphone 3G with iOS4 jailbroken and unlocked via ultrasnow.

With Multitasking and Wallpaper enabled it was slow.

Now disabled Multitasking and Wallpaper and everything feels good. Faster then 3.12 with Wallpaper from my first impression.
 
JUST DO A HARD RESET!!!!
nothing else.


to FIX the SLOW performance on iPhone 3G with iOS4, just do a Hard Reset: press and hold the lock button and the home button together till the iPhone shutdown. Wait some seconds (15 +-) and then turn it on again.

do it twice.. or even more.
I had to do it 3 times.

It fixes a lot of things on iPhone and my iPhone 3G is running as fast as ever.
