is yamaha a good brand of saxophone?

Yes, Yamaha is BRILLIANT! :D
As mamianka said, if you can get a Yamaha, get it! They make great student horns as well as pro horns! I personally think that they make better saxes than clarinets. ;)
If you want more options- look at Selmer, Buffet, Keilwerth, Yanagisawa and Conn. :) But you're good with Yamaha. :)
