Is WWE Wrestling a Sport?

I believe so.

First of all, let us define a sport.

Sport is defined as competition of skill governed by a set of rules.

Note that a sport does not require physical skill, just skill. Now, I understand that you people may not agree that there is no competition in wrestling since the matches are pre determined.

Well, there is competition, but it is not from the win/loss record. You see, the wrestlers need to prove to management they are good enough to be successful in the business. To do that, they must impress management with their talent in the ring.

So, lets say wrestler A and wrestler B were in a match. A is scheduled to win. However, if B outperforms A, he won in management's eyes and has another opportunity to prove himself to maybe climb the ranks. That is the competition in wrestling. To outperform one another.

Now, anything can be a sport. All it needs is competition governed by a set of rules. So, cup stacking is a sport. A staring contest, and even the competition of various musicians competing one another for the top spot in the billboard 100 is a sport.

A sport does not require physical skill.
"No, its pure entertainment.

For a start you can bet on every recognised sport in the world in Australia but not wrestling. Why?

Because the outcome is predetermined. Always. Its all scripted.

They don't even make a secret of it but some people choose to ignore the facts.

So it like this. The competitors are athletes fact.
There is a lot of skill involved. Fact.
They are also actors (to a degree) fact.
They rehearse every event. Fact.

The sole aim of a match is to entertain.
Its like saying Magic is a sport.

Is wrestling a sport NO. Fact."

Now you defitnatley did not read what I said.....

if you think wrestling is a sport that doesnt require physical skill then your lucky your not wrestler or youd be crushed scripted or not

and yes but wwe is sports entertainment
