is what we see in space the past ? think about this?

its been prove that even people that travel on an airplane can actually travel back in time a fraction of a second so if what we see in space takes the speed of light to see, that's pretty fast some light of which we see is millions of miles away so do you think what we see could be the past and we do not see what is actually going on in the present say like something catastrophic to the universe
 
It's the past, since light takes years to reach us from other stars, and we can see from as far back as 7+ billion years.
